Emphasis is placed on understanding spatial data, mapping techniques, and the integration of various geospatial tools. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, and projects, students will develop a strong foundation in utilising geospatial technology for data analysis, visualisation, and decision-making. GIS (Geographical Information System) is a vibrant, growing field with many opportunities for people who want to work in it. The demand for GIS professionals is increasing as the technology becomes more widespread and integrated into our everyday lives. There is currently a lack of GIS technicians in Ireland in a wide array of industries.
